Malekin, I am
Here live I, Malekin - and I have what you seek…
O human child, once a fairy stole me away. Timeless, I have lived among the rushes and the mud, in and out of fairyland, immersed in their magic. Once I was like you, but not now. I am the being you seek on the edge. Step across the water and don’t look back. Yes, witches and sorcerers, wise women and cunning men, they come to me with questions. Lightfooted, I winder streets and screep through woods to seek such secret trinkets. O, I sink these deep in mud, save them in my treasure trove, until - at last - you come seeking.
For I know what you are looking for - and I know where to find it.
The World is full of magical things
Who aids Malekin
We are three women.
If you met us, you’d encounter a traditional witch, an artist and an art historian.
Our objects are steeped in the breath of the past. Spelled, storied and spirited. They speak. Each lives its own myth. We meet in their power.
Old Agnes
Old Agnes asks for a friend.
She needs a soul that understands the peculiar power of her presence, who is unafraid to let the dark creep in.
Once, early in the 20th Century, she was brought to life by a pair of wise hands who knew how to add the uncanny to a living piece of folk art.
She calls you, she murmurs, she murmurs, she asks to come with you.
